4 CHALLENGES MODERN PARENTS FACE THAT KEEP THEM YELLING, NAGGING AND ARGUING WITH THEIR KIDS

Part of parents’ overwhelm is that people who are not in the parenting trenches right now don’t get it: They just don’t get how much harder parenting is today compared to even 10 years ago.  Bosses and managers who have never had kids certainly don’t get the particular stresses of parenting. The purpose of this talk is to show both parents and the people interacting with them how to address today’s challenges, so together we can help children thrive.

Other than taking away their kids’ electronics, parents often feel at a loss for what makes an effective consequences. What if you didn’t need consequences? When they do enough pre-teaching and anticipation, most of the time parents can prevent trouble before it even begins. Parents can problem solve with their kids ahead of time and negotiate agreements that their children actually want to up hold.

In her talk or interview, Elisabeth will answer some of these valuable questions and more:

·       How to identify problem situations

·       How to brainstorm and roll play with kids so they can rehearse what is expected of them

·       How to use the question “How do you want me to be about that?” to elicit children’s own solutions for shifting their behavior.
